My Experiences In Istanbul

My experience in Turkey was defined by experiences I absorbed through using all of my senses. My prior predictions of how Turkey would change me proved true as I traveled through the country. The most powerful moment I experienced on the trip was the feeling I got when I was in the Blue Mosque in Istanbul. While there I found myself connected with humanity and completely immersed and in awe of the amazing people I was surrounded by.

As I further explored the city some of my favorite sights included the following...

The Blue Mosque in Istanbul

A market in Turkeys largest city Istanbul

Aya Sofya Cathedral

Istanbul's Iconic Bridge that links Asia and Europe
Topkapi Palace

The sound that had the most significant impact on me throughout my journey was once again inside the Blue Mosque. Witnessing the power of prayer and hundreds of people immersed in praying, made me feel completely connected spiritually and pushed me to want to learn more about the Muslim religion and Islam sects.

The tastes and smells of Turkey are completely irresistible and I found myself wondering which of these foods my ancestors enjoyed as much as I did. When visiting Istanbul, it is an absolute necessity to go to the famous Istanbul Spice Bazaar, the smells wafted from miles away as you began to approach it. Below are some of favorite foods and drinks I found at the best restaurants in Istanbul and at street fairs.
